Add Evidently's bot to a Telegram group, and it reads the messages and photos posted there from then on. It never posts, and nothing changes for the people in the group.
Not available yet. You can try it with made-up data, not your own account. It reads from when the bot joins. For older messages, upload a Telegram export.

Connect it, step by step
In Sources, pick Telegram, then Get an invite link.
Open it in Telegram, choose the group, then Add bot. The link works once, within an hour.
Back in Evidently, check the group's name and tick everyone who is staff or a volunteer.
Press Read this group. A test message appears on the source's page about a minute later.
Where you'll see it
- Sources shows the messages read, the records found, and when.
- The evidence behind a number shows the message, and any photo, the words that support it highlighted.
- Disconnect on the source's page makes the bot leave the group.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “The bot can only see commands in this group, not messages.” | Ask whoever set up Evidently to turn the bot's privacy mode off, then add the bot again. |
| “This link has run out. Get a new one.” | Press Get a new link. |
| “The bot is no longer in this group, so nothing new is read.” | Add it to the group again. The source carries on by itself. |
